The highlight of summer in our community happens this month — Papillion Days! The annual celebration is June

14 through 18. The most significant change to be aware of is that the Papillion Community Foundation has moved

the Papillion Days Parade to 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 17. The Papillion Days kickoff event on Wednesday, June

14, will be at City Park and will include an Ice Cream Social, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., entertainment from The String

Beans, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., and the Kiddie Parade & Duck Paddle, 7 to 8 p.m. For more information about Papillion

Days, see the insert included in this envelope or visit: www.papillionfoundation.org/papillion-days

Switching gears, one of the things I often hear is that Papillion needs more local restaurants. Off the top of my

head, here are a number of relatively recent openings in our community in no particular order (and there may be

others I’m missing): Pine & Black Bistro, Talus Spirits & Sustenance, La Paz Papillion, Wilby's Comfort 2.0, Sauced

by Alfaro, J’s Smokehouse, Caniglia’s A Mano, Fovero Greek & Homestyle Kitchen, Lux American Grill, Café

Diem, Ika San Ramen & Izakaya, Mas Chingon, Bomb Taco, The Papillion Taco Guy, Sipcha, Miyake Sushi, Abra

Kadabra, and Bennett Bakery. We have such a great array of local restaurants that we created the Papillion Visitor’s

Guide on our website where you can find them all in one place, including location information and links to their

websites. This is not an official list; however, we do try to keep it current: www.papillion.org/visitorsguide

Speaking of new additions to our website, our City staff also recently created a map of all of Papillion’s trail system.

Whether you like to run, hike, bike or even ride horseback, the online Papillion Trail Map provides great

information on all the trail opportunities and connections our community has to offer. View the map at

www.Papillion.org/Trails and be on the lookout for a hard copy map coming soon.

Lastly, if you water your lawn, the City of Papillion Water Department asks you to follow our voluntary odd/even

watering plan. If your home address ends with an odd number, please water on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. If

your home address ends in an even number, water Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday or Sunday. This schedule helps

our Water Department decrease peak water usage, which reduces stress on the system, improves reliability,

maintains pressure and provides costs savings for both the City and you, our water customers.

If you have any questions about any City services, feel free to call the Mayor’s Hotline at 402-827-1111. Our staff

takes pride in solving problems and answering your questions.
