The City of Bellevue and the Bellevue Fire Department would like to thank the Frisbie family for a generous donation to the Bellevue Fire Department at a small ceremony this
morning. This donation was made in honor of the late Ron Frisbie and was presented to members of the Bellevue Fire Department and the Bellevue Public Safety Foundation by
Ron’s wife Jan and his daughter Anne and son John. Unfortunately, today is the one year anniversary of Ron’s death but the family thought that it would be a perfect time to
recognize the actions of the men and women of the Bellevue Fire Department.
In her thoughtful and obviously heartfelt remarks before presenting a check to the department, Jan Frisbie addressed over 20 members of the Fire Department and said, “In August
of last year, the Bellevue EMT crew responded to a call at our home in Bellevue for my husband Ron Frisbie. From the moment you arrived your teamwork was amazing, as
evidenced by their focus during the chaos. I knew my husband was in good care and that same care continued all the way to the ER. It is hard for me to measure the appreciation
I have for all of you for doing such a difficult job without hesitation. Therefore, I have a memorial in Ron’s name that I would like to present to you today. It is going to the Bellevue
Public Safety Foundation with a designation for your team at the District 3 Fire Station to use for any equipment or supplies needed for future calls.”
Bellevue Assistant Fire Chief Mark Rohlfing and Bonnie Knutson from the Bellevue Public Safety Foundation gratefully accepted this meaningful donation. Assistant Chief Rohlfing
thanked the Frisbie family for making the effort to be here today and reiterated his thanks and appreciation for the brave men and women of the Bellevue Fire Department who
answer 1000’s of calls a year with a high level of professionalism which is so important to the families involved.
Jan Frisbie wanted to recognize the four firefighters from District 3 who responded to her home. Firefighters and Paramedics Cody Fouts, Conner McDonnell, Austin Croushorn and
Russ Herting were thanked for their professionalism and compassion during the hectic scene last August.
Thank you to the Frisbie Family for spending part of your difficult day with us and your words and donation are greatly appreciated and will be put to good use by the department.
