The City of Papillion is inviting the public to see and tour the newly renovated Papillion City Hall during two open house events this month:
• June 15, noon to 4 p.m., corresponding with Papillion Days. A ribbon-cutting for the building will be held at 4 p.m. by the Sarpy County Chamber of Commerce.
• June 21, 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., leading up to the Papillion City Council meeting that evening.
During the open house events, residents are welcome to tour the building, enjoy the City Hall Art Gallery, meet City staff and enjoy refreshments. The Papillion Fire Department's new fire trucks will also be on display during the event.
Built in 1922, Papillion City Hall is celebrating its 100th year of serving the community. The building served as the Sarpy County Courthouse until 1974 when it was purchased by the City of Papillion to function as City Hall. Renovations include updated energy efficient heating and cooling, automatic lighting, new wiring, technology upgrades, enhancements to the building’s historical features, and a new floor plan that uses the building’s space more efficiently and intuitively.
Papillion City Hall is located at 122 E 3rd Street in downtown Papillion.
