The percentage of unemployed residents was less than the statewide total of 30.2 percent for this demographic group. In 2018 the total La Vista population reached 13,349.

Out of 10,320 people who had a job, 104 were employed in the Armed Forces and 10,216 belonged to the civilian labor force.
