Springfield ranked 45th in state for resident earnings in 2017

Springfield ranked 45th among cities in Nebraska by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau in August.

The median income of Springfield residents was an inflation-adjusted $35,848 per year. Springfield had 593 households in 2017, with a population of 1,391.

The city with the highest median resident income in the state was Walton. Walton's median income was $77,583 per year after adjusting for inflation – $41,735 more than Springfield. It had 97 households in 2017 and a population of 259.

Verdel had the lowest annual resident income among cities in Nebraska, with a median income of only $8,750 per year. That was $27,098 less than the median income in Springfield at the time. Verdel had 9 households in 2017 and a population of 15.
